Who We Are
Electrotron has over the past 31 years evolved into a manufacturer of conveyor protection, belt monitoring, control, communication, weighing and signalling equipment. Boasting Original Equipment Manufacturer, Electrotron’s design characteristics enable trouble free operation of their equipment in the harshest of underground mines, plants and opencast operations.
Equipment records show operational installations on conveyors, totalling more than 5000km in Southern Africa and the Middle East.
Electrotron’s “Scan” – equipment ensure the end user access to the latest safety technology solutions and provides backwards compatibility with existing installations, providing seamless upgrade paths to greater functionality and efficiency.

Conveyor Protection Safety Equipment
Our suite of Scanbelt products include; Pull Switches, Pre-Start Warning Alarms, Belt Drift switches, Material Spillage Detection Systems, Conveyor Belt Rip Detection and some of the most advanced built-in prestart safety configurations.
Electrical Control Equipment
Flame proof, dust proof, control, monitoring and starter panels are manufactured in house by Electrotron. Soft starters, variable speed, underground equipment, firing packs and bridges manufactured and repaired inhouse.
Underground Radio Intelligence
Underground Radio Systems manufactured by Electrotron have advanced through the use of the Scancom range of products, ensuring compatibility with various makes of equipment worldwide, easily installed and commissioned and ideal for remote mining applications.
In motion weighing systems
Accurate, user friendly, cost effective, belt weighing equipment in various idler configurations, accuracies, for the majority of applications is manufactured in house by Electrotron.

Future Prospects
The standardization of equipment at most of the above mines provide opportunities for continual product sales, maintenance and services for the life of the mine. The lifespans of some the above mines and power stations extend beyond 2040.
Other opportunities include the establishment of service centers located at strategic locations providing empowerment opportunities in line with the mining charter. These centers could be established and sold of as franchises or held an extension to the company.
